Blackout Ballistics started because navigating the current gear market has become an expensive guessing game. We wanted to build a resource that provides shooters, from beginners to decades-long veterans, with the exact information they need before spending their hard-earned money.
Our core team consists of professionals, with the majority of us currently serving or having previously served on active duty. Because of our backgrounds, we look at gear through the lens of utility, reliability, and practical performance.
That perspective extends to our broader network. Our connections span across the country, pulling in insights and equipment from active competition shooters, LEO, and SOF. This diverse pool of operational experience gives us a massive, real-world knowledge base to draw from when evaluating equipment.
The catalyst for creating Blackout Ballistics was collective frustration with the state of online reviews. As shooters, we grew tired of watching product recommendations that felt more like sales pitches.
The vast majority of mainstream content is driven by corporate sponsorships, paid placements, or deep-seated brand loyalties. When a reviewer has financial ties to a manufacturer or relies on steady streams of free marketing packages, objective evaluation goes out the window. It leaves consumers guessing what is actually reliable and what is just highly funded marketing.
We reject that model entirely. You will not find us declaring a definitive best suppressor, optic, or rifle on our platform. The ideal setup depends entirely on the individual shooter, the specific application, and the budget. Our role is not to dictate your choices.
Instead, we focus strictly on providing raw data, factual measurements, and unedited footage. We lay out the performance exactly as it happened on the range, allowing you to evaluate the evidence and come to your own conclusions.
Maintaining this level of objectivity requires total independence from manufacturer influence. We do not accept optimized media samples from marketing departments.
Instead, we leverage our network within the industry, LEO, and military communities to source the gear we feature. We borrow equipment from friends and acquaintances who have zero financial stake in how the product performs on camera.
If a piece of gear fails, we show it. If it excels, the data reflects it. This setup keeps our analysis completely independent and gives you a transparent, accurate look at what you are actually buying.
Always Independent, never for sale.
